becoming child like

I have had a very busy day. This afternoon I picked up my 4 year old niece, she starts pre-k on friday so I wanted to spend some time with her.................we played at the park and then went to the golden arches for dinner and to play some more..................as I watched her laugh and play I was remined of the scripture where God tells us to become as little children to inherit the kingdom.Think about it children are very trusting, they believe , they are very forgiving creatures,they are very passionate, full of life and energetic and they laugh at the drop of a hat. As I watched I found myself thinking I wish I could be like that and the truth is we all can. I'm not talking about being childish , that is a whole different ballgame. I'm talking about being deeply rooted in the love of God, trusting Him fully, even when things don't make sense and we don't understand all that is going on . A believe a key to this kind of life is found in the book of phillipians Be anxious for nothing but by prayer and supplication let our requests be made known to God .And God's peace which transcends all understanding shall mount guard over your hearts and minds ..........Cast your care on God b/c He cares for you......children are totally dependent on their parents........as we depend on our Heavenly Father in this same manner ,we can be free.........free to live, laugh, cry, free to be what He has destined us to be, knowing that our Abba Father has everything in control..................laugh a lot it is contagious

the privilege of giving

Give and it shall come back to you pressed down and running over shall God give unto you.
I've had quite an amazing day.......I started out this morining delivering the pasrty and fruits tray that I helped put together yesterday here at church.........you know it doesn't take much to be a blessing to people around us............As I went into the schools everyone began to smile.......and everyone was even more delighted when I asked if I could pray a prayer of blessing for their upcoming school year............you see I thought I was going to bless them , however I believe I received even a greater blessing ..............the joy that comes from simply obeying God , whatever it is that He ask of us, is many times overwhelming............to obey is better than sacrifice..........this is when God commands His blessings upon us when we obey...............scripture tells us Jesus just went about doing good............take time today and ask God whom does He desire you to bless today..............maybe it's someone that lives nearby and just needs a visit , an encouraging word, maybe it's someone in your family that just needs an extra hug and I love you......or it could be someone at the grocery store whom you don't even know....................whomever it is........lets get busy being the hands and feet of Jesus...............you'll be amazed at what the Lord does in you and through you.................will you go where ever I send , will you be steadfast to the end? will you be my hands and my feet? Giving my love to all that you meet? Freely you have received , now freely give. Take my love and give it away. For oh how I long for everyone to receive of my amazing grace......................Jesus is calling us all to a place of servanthood...............God Bless and have fun

The Desires of Your Heart

Today as I was working at my church, I am the children and youth minister, I began to bask in the goodness of God. I recently responded to the still small voice that had been leading me into this new journery and new position at my church. As I stood in the church kitchen putting together pastry trays to take to each school(we want to bless our teachers and pray for a great school year) I began to thank God for His goodness towards me. You see I have always enjoyed working with food. I cater, do cakes ect. I have often considered opening a bakery or deli. Responding to the call of ministry, I had put other desires on the back burner so to speak.....in the midst of the kitchen I began to realize just how willing God is to give you the desires of your heart..............here I was doing something I loved doing ,serving the Lord and getting to make beautiful pastry and fruit trays that others could enjoy. God is so very good to His children desiring to give us the best gifts.He wants to bless us so we can be a blessing. So tomorrow I will go into our schools to bless our teachers with goodies and prayer and an encouraging word----God is good all the time,all the time God is good.........stay tuned to hear how the visits go......................
